What Is This Site?
I started this website at the age of 16, way back in 1997. It was your basic GeoCities page rife with animated pics, a hit counter and a guest book. The site evolved with the times, until 2001 when I finally had to shut it down because I got too busy with work. Since then there have been many iterations.
So, Who Are You?
My name is Samuel. I was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas. I have been writing all of my life, having won many contests during school. My first blog was in 1999 when I was sent an invite to the newfangled blogging platform LiveJournal. I stayed there for a while, eventually moving over to AOL blogs, before blogging exclusively at 1up dot com.
In my professional life I spent over ten years working for Nokia Telephones, Radio Shack Corp, then as a contractor for AT&T, Cingular, LG, Samsung, Motorola, and Apple. After that I became a video game journalist and podcaster, and dipped my toes in audio and video editing.
In college I was an officer in many clubs, including Film Club, Natural Sciences Club, and Christians on Campus. I ran for and was elected vice president of our campus' chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, and the following year I was elected president. I was involved in student government, first as a senator, then as the elected secretary, and finally as historian. I served on the campus' disciplinary board, and helped organize various volunteer drives, such as Toys for Tots and Caroling for Cans.
Currently I work as a tech consultant by day, and by night I am a podcaster for CSPN, as well as a co-host on the show Scarcasm Live. I am also working on various projects for myself that I hope to reveal soon. In my spare time I watch a lot of television and eat a lot of junk food.
